COMMENTS FROM THE PASTOR:

Thank you, Terry Jordan for giving a Gideon presentation on Wednesday evening while I was away in our Nation’s Capitol.  The Gideon ministry is one of the finest ministries I know of.  I mean really, how do you improve on the Word of God?  Thank you Gideon’s for all you do and for all of your selfless giving.

Vacation Bible School is coming up in June.  Would you consider helping in this vital outreach effort?  You would be surprised just how many adults serving in the Church today came to know Christ during Vacation Bible School.  Let us determine to reach them while they are young.  Let us resolve to lead them into a relationship with our Lord Jesus before the enemy puts too many scars on their lives.  Would you pray about what The LORD would have you to do?

Devotional:

Matthew 25:46, “And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.”

Everlasting punishment is not something that we like to dwell on.  As a matter of fact, there are many people who claim to be Christians that do not accept that God has prepared a place of punishment for those who are unrighteous.  You would think that most Christians would have that same mind set based on the kind of life styles we live.  Some would ask, If God is a loving God how could He allow people to experience judgment and pain throughout all eternity?  I have noticed that it is not difficult to convince people who claim to be Christians that the Lord Jesus died on a cross and that the wrath of God was poured out on Him and that He was placed into a cold dark tomb and the reason He did this was to pay for the sins of the world.  If there is no problem with Jesus dying for the sins of the world and the wrath of God was poured out on Him, why would God not judge all those who reject the high price that our Lord Jesus paid?  If there is no eternal judgment then the death of Jesus was all in vain.  But there is eternal judgment and real people go to a real Hell and these people are really separated throughout all eternity.  The good news is Jesus Saves?  No one need die in their sin.  The Lord Jesus has already died for us!  Place your trust in Him and you will never be separated from God and you will never experience the torments of everlasting punishment.

In Closing:

Revelation 20:15, “And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast in the lake of fire.”

                                                In Christ, Ricky
