COMMENTS FROM THE PASTOR:
The C.A.R.E. Ministry is a wonderful way to be a part of the ministry of Christ. First Baptist has four C.A.R.E. teams that meet once a month and cover four Thursdays a month. The C.A.R.E. Ministry gives each person the ability to use the gift that the Lord has given you and put it into service. I hope you will pray about joining one of our C.A.R.E. Teams and use the talent that was given to you by the Lord. Don’t dig a hole and bury it in the ground.
Valley Baptist Church from Bakersfield, California will be joining us on October 15th, 2017 for our Sunday morning service. There will be about 120 guests for that service. Valley is coming to us on a heritage tour. It was their Pastor Dr. Phil Neighbors 5th great grandpa that was the very first Pastor of FBC in 1794. I hope you will make plans to attend this special service. Chosen Road will be bringing the special music that morning.
Matthew 18:10, “Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, that in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my father which is in heaven.”
In heaven, children who have placed their faith in Christ is a big deal. The Bible teaches us that these children have angels beholding the face of God and interceding for their behalf. On earth, the Lord Jesus always welcomed children with open arms and corrected the Disciples for trying to keep them from coming to Him. He said, “Suffer little children to come unto me and forbid them not,” Luke 18:16. It never ceases to amaze me the adults who feel God can only be understood from a grownup level and forget that unless you become as a child in your faith, you cannot be saved. We should always keep in mind the warning our Lord gave and try and never offend in any way these precious little saints, because they are a big deal in heaven and they should be a big deal on earth.
Mark 10:15-16, “Verily I say unto you, whosoever shall not receive the Kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein. And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them.”
In Christ, Ricky
